DR. FRANK ROBERTS

IAPCHE is saddened yet again by the departing of a staunch supporter and promoter of Christian higher education worldwide. Calvin College’s professor emeritus Frank Roberts died on Friday, March 29, 2013, at the age of 75. Frank Roberts graduated from Calvin College with a BA in 1962. He completed his Master of Divinity at Calvin Theological Seminary in 1965 and then a Ph.D. in history and church history at Vanderbilt University in 1973. Roberts spent 32 years at Calvin in which he served as a faculty member in the college’s history department (1969-2001), as an academic dean (1990-1997) and as the college’s first director of off-campus programs (1997-2001). He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Doris, four children and seven grand children. Frank’s last IAPCHE event was a West Michigan networking dinner in November 2012, which he attended along with his wife Doris. We celebrate his life and dedication to global education.
