This summer has been a time of transition for IAPCHE as we prepare for Dr. Shirley Roels to assume the role of Executive Director. Laura Van Engen will continue as IAPCHE Program Manager. Current IAPCHE email addresses to both email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org will remain the same as will the office postal address and phone number. Yet as of Friday, September 1, the director will be a new respondent.
From Harry Fernhout:
While my term as interim Executive Director concluded at the end of June, I have continued to serve on a volunteer basis in collaboration with our Program Manager, Laura Van Engen, and in consultation with Shirley, who will officially assume her new role now.
I want to express my appreciation to all IAPCHE members for your encouragement and support over the past two years. I have enjoyed my work in planning conferences, revamping organizational policies and procedures, and generally enabling the organization to pursue its mission of advancing integral Christian higher education. I’m very excited about IAPCHE’s future prospects under Shirley’s leadership.
May God richly bless and enable IAPCHE to foster vibrant Christian higher education in new and surprising ways, in the interests of Christ’s reign!
From Shirley Roels:
I am deeply grateful to Harry Fernhout for his many years of service to IAPCHE. He previously served as the president of IAPCHE’s governing board; and then he chose to step away from that post to contribute to IAPCHE for almost two years as the interim Executive Director.
Harry’s service is a model for what I hope we can continue in IAPCHE’s network during the years ahead. He answered the call that God placed before him in a time of IAPCHE’s need for leadership. A commitment to global Christian higher education and IAPCHE’s mission guided his perspectives and priorities. He served in a heartfelt and voluntary manner with good cheer and great enthusiasm. When there have been challenges along the way, Harry was guided by a deep belief in God’s power and grace in the process.
Together we hope and pray that God will prosper IAPCHE in the years ahead and continue to foster the greater kingdom in Jesus Christ.
