International Reformed Theological Institute International Conference

The International Reformed Theological Institute (IRTI), a joint initiative of VU University Amsterdam and the Protestant Theological University, will host the twelfth biennial international conference of the International Reformed Theological Institute. The theme of the conference will be “Public Theology in Plural Contexts”.

The aim of the IRTI Conference 2017 is to reflect on and to contribute to dealing constructively with religious, economic, social, cultural and ethnic plurality in different contexts from the perspective of the Reformed tradition as a source of public theology.

Keynote speakers

The following theologians will be offering a keynote lecture during the conference:

  • Dr. Zhibin Xie, Professor of Christian Philosophy and Ethics, Department of Philosophy, Tongji University, Shanghai, China
  • Dr. Carver Yu, Abundant Grace Distinguished Professor and Emeritus President of China Graduate School of Theology, Hong Kong, China
  • Dr. Mery Kolimon, Lecturer in Contextual Theology at the Theological Faculty of Artha Wacana Christian University, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia
  • Dr. Stephen Tong, Evangelist and Teacher Reformed Evangelical Church of Jakarta, Indonesia
  • Dr. Tinyiko Maluleke, Professor in African Spirituality and Culture at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Pretoria, South Africa
  • Dr. Richard Mouw, Professor of Faith and Public Life and Emeritus President of Fuller Theological Seminary, USA
Call for papers

Here you may find the call for papers. The deadline for proposals is February 1, 2017. 


Participants may choose between the following fees:


(PhD) student fee: €95
(PhD) student fee including accommodation: €225

Both fees include meals, local transport in Hong Kong, and conference participation.

Regular participants:

Fee A: €235
Fee B (including accommodation in shared seminary room): €325
Fee C (including accommodation in single seminary room): €425
Fee D (including accommodation in hotel room): €675
Extra costs partner: €235

All fees include meals, local transport in Hong Kong, conference participation and a two-years IRTI membership, including a subscription to the Journal of Reformed Theology.
