Announcing the fourth biennial North American conference of the International Network for Christian Higher Education. For the first time, INCHE will co-host this conference with the Kuyers Institute for Christian Teaching and Learning. A pdf of the full conference schedule is here.

Plenary Speakers

Luke Bretherton is professor of theological ethics and senior fellow of the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University. He has worked with a variety of faith-based NGOs, mission agencies, and churches around the world. His books include Christianity and Contemporary Politics: The Conditions and Possibilities of Faithful Witness (Wiley-Blackwell, 2010), winner of the 2013 Michael Ramsey Prize for Theological Writing; Resurrecting Democracy: Faith, Citizenship and the Politics of a Common Life (Cambridge University Press, 2015); and Christ and the Common Life: Political Theology and the Case for Democracy (Eerdmans, 2019).

Faith Nguru is professor of mass communications and former academic dean at Daystar University, with research interests in communication, Christian worldviews, and education. She has also been involved in establishing and running a Christian elementary school and teacher training college. Her most recent publication is a co-authored chapter in Black/Africana Communication Theory published by Palgrave Macmillan (2018).

Tersur Aben is professor of theology and philosophy at Theological College of Northern Nigeria, Bukuru, where he served as college president from 2009-2016. He serves on the board of the International Network for Christian Higher Education (INCHE). He is also an educational consultant with University of Mkar and Rafiki Institute of Classical Education in Nigeria. Aben is a pastor in the Universal Reformed Christian Church (NKST) in Nigeria.

Marilyn Naidoo.jpg

Marilyn Naidoo is professor of practical theology at the University of South Africa with a focus on religious education and empirical research. Her research focus is theological education and ministerial formation and she is a rated scholar with the National Research Foundation. Recent publications include Between the Real and the Ideal: Ministerial Formation in South African Churches (UNISA Press, 2012) and Contested Issues in Training Ministers in South Africa (Sun Media, 2015).

Ken Badley teaches in the department of education at Mount Royal University and is professor of education by special appointment at Tyndale University College. His most recent book, Curriculum Planning with Design Language: Building Elegant Courses and Units (Routledge, 2018), uses visual design terminology to conceptualize objectives, processes, and strategies for curriculum design.
